A group ritual guided by Karin · Tal holds the space

The Peeling
Ritual

A gentle, brave space to loosen what has become heavy, meet the body—and discover what remains when we no longer need to hold everything.

What does peeling mean?

We carry layers: roles, habits, expectations, stories. In the ritual we use white clay, movement, breath and group presence to give those layers a form—and then allow them to crack and fall away.

The material

White clay.
Earth on skin.

White clay is a fine, gentle mineral earth. It begins soft and cool; as it dries, it hardens, cracks and separates from the skin. This simple change makes what we feel visible and tangible—and offers the body a way to release it.

Ancient tradition · Contemporary creation

For thousands of years, people have turned to earth at moments of transition.

Across different cultures, clay, earth and body pigments have accompanied rites of passage, purification, mourning, celebration and renewal—marking change through the body, not only through words.

Karin's Peeling Ritual is not a reconstruction of one religious or cultural ceremony. It is a contemporary creation born from her work with the body, breath and emotional process, respectfully held within that ancient human wisdom: letting the earth carry, for a moment, what we are ready to shed.

The journey

Slowly. By choice. Layer by layer.

01

Arrive

We meet the space, the boundaries and the freedom to choose how much to join.

02

Give it form

We place clay on the body as a symbol for what we are ready to meet and lay down.

03

Peel

Through movement, voice and encounter, the layers can crack, release and fall.

04

Remain

We gently gather the experience and leave with more space, lightness and closeness to ourselves.

Who is it for?

For anyone who feels it is time to set something down.

Come alone, as a couple or as a group. No previous experience with movement, ritual or clay is needed—only curiosity and respect for each person's pace.
